The Sparta Chess Club's goal is to encourage students to play chess -- both recreationally and competitively in tournaments. In addition to holding weekly chess training sessions in schools throughout Sparta, the club regularly runs tournaments. Our student members play in these club tournaments and in tournaments thoughout the tri-state area, as well as in national events.
Additionally, each summer the club runs a weekly chess night, open to anyone who wants to play chess. Players can just show up.
